I got a new bed.  new-bed.jpg

There was great excitement this evening from Billy when it arrived after dinner.  Who knows why its my bed??  A friend of Muzz’s is moving to the Bay and she knew I needed a new bed.  Mine is old – you could feel the springs sticking into your back so she offered me hers.  So yesterday I moved my old bed out of my room.

I had been using extra blankets etc so it didnt hurt upon getting out of bed.  Hence the purple sleeping bag wrapped around the edge of the base.

Todays tackle was interesting I thought I was just going to say I had a new bed.  However, as I am beginning to discover with TT when you start one thing it leads on to another and so I ended up cleaning my whole room up.

before.jpg   I cant believe I slept in this mess!!

You will notice that I recycled the old very useful storage cupboards that were part of my old bed.

I have a question do  you ever run out of TTs???   I already know what my TT is for next week LOL

I got tagged by Erica whose blog works best when looked at in Internet Explorer

I have to list 5 reasons why i blog

1  Ive been blogging for at least a couple of years now.  I stumbled across blogging and got into it and havent looked back since.

2  Im addicted to it too.

3  I enjoy writing and i remember praying to God some years ago for some overseas pen-pals like I had when I was a child.  He answered my prayer and blessed me with not just 2 or 3 pen-pals (like I had when I was a child) but a community of many bloggie friends from all over the world.

4  I like the fact that hopefully my boys will read my blog in years to come and it will be a history of our lives together and be reminded of some really good things we did as they grew up.

5  Its a hobby that I particularly enjoy.  I like learning about other peoples lives.  You could say Im nosy.
Ive always been fascinated by people and their lives.

If you would like to do this meme go for it and let me know so I can read your ideas 🙂

verse 2 reminds me that Jesus welcomed even little children unto Him

He told us not to stand in their way

Verse 3 when I consider what He has made all around us in the moon, stars, the sun, the trees and flowers I think of our great an artist He truly is

The greatest ever I think

Verse 4 we are but mere humans yet He cares greatly for us

so greatly that He died for us

We dont deserve this

we have ruined in many ways what He put us in charge of

yet He does love us so

Holy Holy Lord You truly are majestic

I read some commenter’s thoughts on my daily reading bible plan and I further reflected upon verse 3 and 4 one of the writers wrote about how the night sky and all the stars evangelize him. I feel this way every time I look at a sunset. The way He has placed the colours together so beautiful

Another writer writes how if we take the time to really look around us how blue the sky really is. I remember after being baptised it seemed for a while that all the colours around me in the trees on in my front yard seemed to come alive. they really stood out to me. Their colours seemed to take on a brighter more clearer green than I had ever seen before.

Thank-you God for all that You have made. Words cant express how amazingly wonderful our earth is.

Tonight the youth group went here

I stayed with Daniel we didnt go through the maze. Daniel I looked at the calves, a cow and a deer instead. They were really tame. There was also a little hut for children to explore which Daniel did 🙂 I also cooked supper sausages on a bbq.

The youth group all seemed to have fun even the leader and another lady who got terribly lost. It was a really good evening.

which I hadnt finished on Tuesday hence the reason Im posting about it now

This tackle actually turned into a Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday Tackle

It was a massive undertaking

Now the thing is Billy is suppose to keep his room clean but once a year I decide its got out of hand and I do a massive clean-out. Then Billy is responsible for maintaining it. I threw out so much rubbish.

These are the before photos. How he could live in a room like this I dont know. He growled at me when he first saw what id done worried about his stuff. He was told to go to his room. Later, only about 10 minutes later I was told it was ok really. For the rest of the week he would come home from school and check on progress and praise me 🙂 I did it only when he was at school and still had other chores and events to do and go to. I didnt ask for his help as I have found over the years its easier to do it myself. Otherwise I get this story or thousands like it about what Im throwing away. Kids hoard so much paper though and who needs broken toys. BTW he decided a while ago to store some of his papers and toys in the boxes.

And the after pictures 🙂

Now he has to keep it like this

Billy’s schooling and a cool follow-up

Last week at school Billy and his class were talking about the Art Deco weekend that was held here in the Bay. The teacher read him this story then Billy retold the class all about the car/bike. His teacher was very impressed about the fact that he could retell the class so well.

On the weekend Billy really wanted to go and see if he could go and find the car/bike. I couldn’t help I have the flu. Our wonderful next door neighbour came to the rescue once again. She was taking her family to look and invited Billy to go with them. I gave her my camera to borrow just in case.

They came home later really happy as they had found it. I thought it was a real terrific follow up to the piece of work Billy had done in class earlier in the week.

got this meme from Susanne
Hardback, Trade paperback or mass market paperback?

Unsure of the difference between trade paperback and mass market paperback. I have both hardcover and paperbacks in my collection.

Amazon or brick and mortar?

I don’t use either. I use Trademe mostly. Buying books brand new is too expensive for me.

Barnes &Noble or Borders?

see above answer.

Bookmark or dog-ear?

I either keep my book open where I’m up to or I use the dustcover to mark my place. Yesterday I did make some bookmarks for in my bible though. I’m reading through it using this guide and ive decided this might make it easier to keep of the 4 places I’m reading from daily

Alphabetize or author or alphabetize by title or random?

I have books everywhere (well just about) everywhere in my house. Some are on a book case in the hall. On the top shelf are my Christan books, the others are random. Some are on my bedside table. And my Danielle Steele books are on a coffee table in the spare room together.

Keep, throw away or sell?
I like to keep my books. Occasionally I have been known to give to the hospital.

Keep dust jacket or toss it?

keep not necessarily on the book itself

Read with dust jacket or remove it?

both sometimes they annoy me

Short story or novel?

Collection (short story by same author) or anthology (short stories by different authors)?

I don’t read many short stories

Harry Potter or Lemony Snicket?

I would never read Harry Potter. I have looked at Lemony Snicket after my daughter introduced them to me they seem quite good for young people

Stop reading when tired or at chapter ends?

I try to end the chapter but sometimes it means I fall asleep with the book in my hands

“It was a dark and stormy night” or “Once upon a time”?

either but the 1st one sounds more interesting

Buy or borrow?

New or used?

mostly used, brand new is too expensive for me

Buying choice: book reviews, recommendations or browse?

I like collecting Danielle Steele books. Shes been a favourite author for years. I am also collecting 10 books from the Whitcoulls top 10 as part of my 1001 things to do in 101 days.

Tidy ending or cliff hanger?

tidy ending unless I know I can get hold of the sequel

Morning, afternoon or night time reading?

mostly night time I find it very useful for falling asleep at night and in the middle of the night if I wake up which I usually do

Standalone or series?

either but prefer stand alone

Favourite series?

Heroes of the Faith – Ive read the one about Mother Teresa, Jim Elliot, Billy Graham, David Livingstone and Corrie ten Boom
Favourite book of which nobody else has heard?

A Quizzical Corpse by Kate Irving this book was written by a lady whom lives with my cousin in the UK.

Favourite books read last year?

Angela’s Ashes and ‘Tis by Frank McCourt

Favourite books of all time?

Any of Danielle Steele’s books. I love the way they deal with people and their lives and the fact that they are all so different. I sometimes wonder why I read them as they always make me cry bucket-loads but I love them anyway.
