Today I have been blessed by my dear praying caring faithful friend Denise. She is such a faithful lady. Her blog, emails and ecards always make me smile.

Thanks Denise, love you.

This is what the person that created this award says about it, the thing that I love most about blogging is that I learn so much about a person just by reading their blog. I have met MANY wonderful people with wonderful stories to tell, and I am grateful every day for each person that I have the pleasure of crossing paths in life with.I wanted to create something special for the top ten people who have inspired me through their blogging; the stories they tell, and the lives that they lead with grace and dignity. I visit their blogs for inspiration and encouragement.Although there are MANY people I want to give this award to at this very moment, I am going to choose ten bloggers:Please grab your badge and wear it proudly, and pass it on because you inspire and encourage me, thank you.

So, now it is my turn to pass it on.

Here are the ten bloggers I choose:

  • 🙂 Barb as I shared with her recently she feels like a mom to me. Her blog showers me with love

Saw this at Jenny’s the other day

If you want to play here the instructions let me know so I can check yours out too

1st step – Post a short blog article that includes a photograph (or a series of photos) showing the face behind your blog. If you already showed a photo somewhere on your site (such as in your about page), then make your post more interesting and choose a photo that’s not currently online.
2nd step – Include links to other people that have displayed a photo, or include their photos in your post, adding a reference.
3rd step – Tag as many others as you like in your post to spread the meme.

*My Life*

I’m pretty-much-solo mother of 2 wonderful boys. I do have an important man in my life but we really only see each other in the weekends. I have a large gap between my boys. Billy is 11 nearly 12 on the 16th and Daniel is 2 in November. They get on mostly really really well which pleases me. On Tuesdays Daniel and I go to a local playgroup. Which we both really enjoy. At the playgroup we are rostered on to do different things with the children. Sometimes I do an activity with the children, sometimes I read them a story or sing songs with them. I have an early childhood bachelor in teaching and as well as enjoying the interaction with the children I see this as an opportunity to keep my hand in.

I enjoy blogging, the writing and photo taking. Theres parts of me that wonder whether I should have been a journalist. I also like making friends all over the world. I LOVE reading. I am a Christian and my faith is important to me. I wouldnt be the person I am today if it were not for God.

*My Background*

I was the eldest of 2 girls. I was born and raised in Auckland New Zealand.

I was married and had a daughter. Due to awful circumstances last year she now lives with her grandparents and they are all estranged. I sometimes find this hard but I concentrate on what I do have – 2 wonderful handsome sons and a loving partner.

After my marriage ended I started going out with Billys dad. Soon we moved to Christchurch where we had Billy unfortunately he was abusive and when Billy was 1 we left him and moved back to Auckland. Side tracking a moment Billys dad never truly cared about any of us although he claimed to. He has had no contact with Billy since he was about 3.

When my daughter was 6 years old I home schooled her for 2.5 years. Then I went to uni and got my bachelor.

After 7 years of being a solo mum I was lonely I started looking for a companion I used the internet. I unfortunately meet another abusive man whom I was with for 3 months but it felt much longer. They were a hell of a 3 months. I blamed myself for getting involved with another abusive man and went through a lot of grief particularly feeling I hadnt learnt anything between Billys dad and this man. Eventually we decided to part thank God. He felt I was obedient enough. I had come to the realization that he was a jerk. This was after being dumped at a swimming pool with no clothes, no towels and no way to get home.

I do believe that the internet dating community is just like any other community in society you get the bad and the good in perople. So although this had been an aweful experience. It didnt put me off. Just as I was finishing my time at uni I meet another man, however this man was completely different to any other man I had ever met. He was caring, loyal, sensitive to my needs and that of my children. Had a great sense of humour. Supportive. I cant explain it but I knew this man was different. I was a little scared as we seemed to be crazy about each other and thngs seemed to be moving fast. I told my sister. She meet him and liked that she saw to. She said it would be ok. She reminded me that her hubby and her meet and fell in love and married quickly and they were and are still togethjer. Who was this man you might be asking or you might have guessed – yes it is Muzz.

Before long my kids and I moved to the Bay. Where Muzz has always lived. I finished my bachelor by correspondence and we had our little man Daniel.

Since then I have remained a SAHM.

*My Wishes and Dreams*

One day I would like to live in a better house with a garage. One day I will go and get registered in my teaching but for now I LOVE being a SAHM with my wee boy and love my life as it is. God has truly blessed me.

Ages ago I was given this awardschmooze_bmp.jpg

and I neglected it Im so sori thanks so much Bridget please forgive me

This is what qualifies one for getting this award
“As it goes, schmoozing is the natural ability “to converse casually, especially in order to gain an advantage or make a social connection.” Good schmoozers effortlessly weave their way in and out of the blogosphere, leaving friendly trails and smiles, happily making new friends along the way. They don’t limit their visits to only the rich and successful, but spend some time to say hello to new blogs as well. They are the ones who engage others in meaningful conversations, refusing to let it end at a mere hello – all the while fostering a sense of closeness and friendship.”

I got tagged by Erin. I’m supposed to answer these 5 questions and then make up 5 of my own and tag 5 people.

My questions:
1. If you could live ANY one place in the world where would it be and why would you choose that destination?

I would stay right where I am. I love the Bay. I would however live in a nicer house with a garage.

I believe New Zealand is not only a beautiful country but also one of the safer countries in the world.

2. Are you doing what you thought you’d be doing in life and if not, where did you think you’d be or what did you think you’d be doing at this time of your life?

I never believed Id have another child. I always wanted another one. Just didnt think Id have one. I was on my own for 7 years. I thought Id be in Hamilton teaching with my 2 older kids.

3. Are you an optimist or a pessimist (for the most part)?

I try to be a optimist

4. What would be your dream job?

teaching preschool children and it will happen one day. However I love being a sahmummy right now 🙂

5. And a fun one…if you were a paint color what would you be called (you know how paint has lots of fun/weird names)?

Last week Jana also tagged me the rascal LOL

I dont really like moaning I much prefer to focus on the positive but I can do that after this

4 things that should go into room 101 and be removed from the face of the earth:

  • Any act that is carried out with the aim of bringing harm to another person
  • crudeness and rudeness
  • ants especially in the summer time in my house
  • pickled onions yukkkk

3 things people do that make you want to shake them violently:

  • When people are violent to children. As I have said before some people just dont deserve to be anywhere near children. In the news this week there have been another 2 very sad cases. I dont think that actually shaking them violently would do a hang of a lot of good but nevertheless.
  • I would love if my landlord did the stuff he said hed do
  • Tailgating. I find this behavior dangerous

2 things you find yourself moaning about.

  • when Billy packs a moody because he doesnt want to do his homework. Gotta do it might as well just get on and do it. Then we can both do something exciting
  • kids touching my stuff

1 thing the above answers tell you about yourself:

I found this incredibly hard to do. I guess Im not really a moaner. Dont know what do you think???

Link to the original meme at freelancecynic.com so people know what it’s all about!
Be as honest as possible. This is about letting people get to know the real you!
Try not to insult anyone – unless they really deserve it or are very, very ugly!
Post these rules at the end of every meme!

Do you recall when I had my fall about a month ago

Well a few weeks ago I decided the landlord wasnt going to do anything.  And I didnt want to repeat the performance nor have anyone else doing it either.  I decided it was down right dangerous and if the landlord wasnt going to do anything I was!!!   I reckon he was lucky to get away with just a reduced rent.  If Id have broken my cheeck bone or foot he probably would have faced a hell of a lot more worries.

This is what I got a reccommended tradesman to do

And the landlords reaction????

NOTHING even though I sent him a letter telling him what Id done and reduced my rent for a week

2,996 is all about honouring the victims of 9/11. I took part last year. I intend to do it again this year. I see this as important and intend to honour a different victim this year. So many innocent lives were lost that day. On September 11, volunteer bloggers will unite to pay tributes to the victims of 9/11. “We will honour them by remembering their lives, and not by remembering their murderers.” (Dale Challener Roe). Dale the founder of this tribute is a writer and his blog can be found here

The tributes should commemorate the lives of these people. Over the previous 6 years we’ve heard the names of the murderers, and all about how it happened. This is a opportunity to find out and honour those who died. “Forget the murderers, they don’t deserve to be remembered.” (Dale Challener Roe) But the innocent victims who died that day do deserve to be remembered. There were 2,996 people that died because of this awful event. Join me in remembering them.

Simply go here and learn how you can join me and many others in remembering these people. They do deserve to be remembered.

Bless Her – My Reflection Award

I was blessed by Gretchen recently. This award was created by Alátáriël,Lady of Lorien . Here are her stipulations for granting the award:
“As for my award, it is called The Blogger Reflection Award. Why? The reason for the title is because this award should make you reflect on five bloggers who have been an encouragement, a source of love, impacted you in some way, and have been a Godly example to you. Five Bloggers who when you reflect on them you get a sense of pride and joy…of knowing them and being blessed by them. This award is for the best-of-the-best so consider who you pick, carefully. This award should not be given to just anyone. If you’re going to do the award don’t just write a few words and slap it on your blog. Write real thoughts about these bloggers and what they’ve been to you, and if the bloggers you pick have already been given the award, don’t be afraid to give to them again. They deserve it as many times as it’s given.

This is what Gretchen said about me:

Jen truly is a Prayer Warrior, as her blog’s name implies. I have been blessed over and over again by her faith in the face of adversity and her gratitude for what some might consider the smallest things (e.g. earth mover machines for her young son to enjoy watching). Her humility and grace teaches me something new each time I read her blog.

Awwwwwwwwww bless you my dear friend

Here are my picks… (Im not going to worry about whether these ladies and gentlemen have been award yet or not. Sometimes I try to bless those that I think are deserving but havent been awarded yet. However, at least one of these ladies has been awarded already but she blesses me so much. I couldnt possibly not include her)

missioncross.gif Denise

This lady reflects God to me in so many ways. She has a heart of gold. She is so caring, loving, supportive and loyal. She sends me emails and ecards EVERYDAY she cares so so much. She prays for me too. She is one of my biggest encouragers. This is all regardless of how shes feeling. Like my Muzzy she has diabetes hers is robbing her of her sight and her health is not the best. However, this does not stop her from caring deeply about others. Everytime I lok at her blog I am blown away by her faith. She is incredible. For some of us we would be asking why me Lord. Havent I been through enough but not my sweet friend she troops on with God right beside her. I am so blessed to have gotten to know Denise through her blog. Love you my friend.

missioncross.gif Barb

This lady reflects to me what a good parent should be like. God is a Father to us and I feel Barb is like a mum to me. She is caring, generous and loving. She is sensitive to the feelings of others without being overbearing. I love reading about her life. I especially like her Sunday Meanderings that she starts with a devotion. I love these devotions. I love reading and reflecting on them. I feel loved every time I visit Barbs blog.

missioncross.gif Lisa

Lisa runs the “I AM” study off of her blog. I have been doing this study since its beginning. I enjoy it. I in fact get excited when I see a new study session is up. It is a wonderful study. I am confident through running this study on her blog Lisa is going to be responsible for bringing more people to Christ. I know I have been able to learn and relearn more about God through this study.

Through this blog and God working through Lisa I got the confidence to say what I felt and not be afraid to goof up if I had answered any of the questions in this study wrong. He reminded me of a long held believe that it is through making mistakes we learn. Through putting my responses on my blog I received amazing and loving comments that encouraged me. This study does reach out and touch a wide range of people keep it up Lisa. Your hard work is paying off.

Through this study and Lisa’s blog I have been able to get to know other woman who share the same faith as I do and through some of the study sessions I have began to understand just how much I care for these woman and they in turn care about me. The study has allowed me to reflect on things in my past and continue to heal from them.

I like the way this study solidifies ideas about my faith and share them with other people. I like it when someone says “oh me too.” As Lisa did to me a few studies back.

I am sincerely thankful and grateful that Lisa has been doing these studies. May God bless you Lisa.

A week or so ago I honored Patricks wife with the rockin award. Today I want to award them again and this time I have decided to give the award to Patrick (however they both really deserve this one and the other one). God might have been the King of Kings but He was also a servant. He gave of Himself so many times over His life and afterwards. Patrick, too gives of his time, expertise and self. He and his wife are missionaries caring for some of the poorest children of the world that without him and his wife Carol would not be where they are today. Patrick is making a huge difference. To these children and their families. Bless you Patrick I pray that through God you will continue the good work you have started.

I havent been reading Connies blog long. However, in the time that I have she had certainly spoken to me through her beautiful blog. She is a hospice nurse and as such it is part of the job description to be caring, loving and supportive and I believe Connie is all of this and more. I was brought close to tears Connie sees part of her job as walking people along the road to Jesus in their final days. What a privilege, what a blessing, what a lady. Connie I sense has been through some rough times yet she knows that it is through Him that she is where she is today. I love her blog and her faith clearly shows through it.

I am so so so blessed to these great people that reflect God to me in their blogs, emails and them themselves

YAHOOOOOOOOOOOOOO can you hear the music???

tagged me for a “Personal Policies Meme,” asking about “not moral rules, like ”Do Not Kill,’ I’m talking about the silly policies we impose on ourselves, like ‘Never eat anything you can’t identify,’ or ‘Don’t step on sidewalk cracks.’

1. I like to use the left hand side of my kitchen bench for dirty dishes and I dont like it when people put dirty dishes on the other side.

2. I have to have complete quietness to be able to read. Id love to be able to read anywhere but I cant. It has to be quiet.
3. If one fingernail breaks, I bite the rest of them, so they are even. Hence I can never grow my fingernails for very long.

4. I use capital letters when referring to God. I think I was told one should do this by my bible in schools teacher at primary school. I guess you could say it’s become a “policy” of sorts. When referring to God as “Him” or “He”…I always capitalize it. Always. I just feel it’s important

5. I try to leave 30 minutes before I have if Im going somewhere important. Even if I know it wont take that long to get there. I dont like being late and would prefer to be early.

6. I have a morning chore list which (I made for the kids years ago) I have to follow it every morning and if im away from home I have to mentally go through this list to make sure ive done everything. Before I made this chart for the kids I had a list of things I had to do myself (even when I was a teenager)
